It\u2019s something they learn\u2014slowly, quietly, through what they see and hear every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019re a parent who wants to raise children who recognize and thank Allah for what they have, you\u2019re not alone. And you\u2019re not too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Ijaazah Academy, we work with families from all over the world. Many of them ask the same question: <em>How can I teach my child to be grateful to Allah in a real and lasting way?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s break it down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Children Imitate What They See<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start with yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before teaching a child to say <em>Alhamdulillah<\/em>, say it out loud in your own life. Say it when food arrives. Say it when you find your lost keys. Say it when you hear good news\u2014or even when things don\u2019t go as planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kids pick up tone and emotion more than words. If they see you genuinely grateful to Allah, they\u2019ll learn what that looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Real example? One of our students, age 7, surprised her mother by saying <em>Alhamdulillah<\/em> after falling down. Why? She had heard her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ijaazah_learn_quran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quran teacher<\/a> calmly saying it every time something small went wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Talk About Blessings\u2014Often<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make it part of your routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At bedtime, ask your child:<br><strong>\u201cWhat are three good things that happened today?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They might say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I played with my cousin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I had mango juice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I didn\u2019t have to do homework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After they list their blessings, say:<br><strong>\u201cAlhamdulillah for all that. Allah is very kind to us.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep it short. Repeat it often. It sticks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Use Stories from the Quran<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nothing captures a child\u2019s attention like a good story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Quran is full of people who showed\u2014or forgot\u2014gratitude. Share these stories in a way your child understands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start with Prophet Nuh (AS). After building the ark, he kept thanking Allah. Then talk about Qarun, who became proud of his wealth and forgot where it came from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t turn it into a lecture. Just tell the story and pause to ask: <strong>\u201cWho gave him that blessing?\u201d<\/strong><br><strong>\u201cDid he thank Allah?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let your child think it through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Connect Simple Things to Allah<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When it rains, say:<br><strong>\u201cLook at this rain. Who sends it down?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the power comes back after a blackout, say:<br><strong>\u201cAlhamdulillah, Allah gave us light again.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Link everyday moments to the Giver of all things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over time, your child will start making these connections without being prompted. That\u2019s the goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. They learn to focus on what\u2019s missing, not what\u2019s present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Try to keep your complaints out of earshot. Or better, replace them with short praises: <strong>\u201cIt\u2019s hot today, but Alhamdulillah we have cold water.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balance your honesty with a reminder of Allah\u2019s blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Practice Giving Together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When your child gives to someone else, they realize how much they already have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn\u2019t have to be big.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Let them put coins in a charity box.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help them donate toys they no longer use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit a family in need and bring something together.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterward, talk about it.<br><strong>\u201cWe gave something small, but it meant a lot. Allah gave us enough to share.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. It\u2019s about building a connection with Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Ijaazah Academy, many of our teachers help children reflect on the meanings of verses. They start to see their toys, their parents, even their heartbeat as blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That reflection matters. That\u2019s what stays with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gratitude Is a Seed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It won\u2019t grow overnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if you keep watering it\u2014by example, by conversation, by teaching\u2014it starts to take root.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Ijaazah, we believe that Quran education isn\u2019t separate from character building.
